Cats - Norwegian Forest

Norwegian forest is one of the oldest breeds in Europe. It is very much like a miniature linx. Large dimensions, pointed ears with tufts of hair trimmed and full of temperament naturally make us imagine walking in a snowy woods, even when they are between the walls of a comfortable apartment.

Description:
- Body: Norwegian is a cat-sized large, is high and has a rectangular body. Males are noticeably larger than females.
- Cape: the shape of an equilateral triangle. Profile is long, and must not be uneven line of nose. Chin is slightly rounded, firm and must be in line with nose.
- Eyes: are large and expressive, oblique and aligned with those of hair color.
- Ears: Medium size and the ends are trimmed with tufts of hair.
- Neck: Short characterized by strong musculature.
- Coat: double up of undercoat is abundant especially in winter and long hair, shiny and waterproof. The area around the neck has a soft collar in front and behind your head as a crest.
- LIMBS: are the medium and muscular thighs are strong.
- Tail: Long and bushy, broad based.
- Temperament: a cat is sociable and bold. Males, in particular, seeking contact with humans, while the female does not bear much, to be taken in arms.

Maintenance
Even if a rich fur and long, Norwegian Forest Cat is not so hard to maintain. It does not require daily brushing hair in the spring, during moulting. Otherwise a weekly brushing is sufficient, but must be done carefully so as not to break the long wires that recovering hard.
